A shelving system designed in collaboration with Søren Le Schmidt

Danish storage brand RackBuddy introduces Frame Chrome: a new addition to the Frame Collection, developed in collaboration with acclaimed Danish designer Søren Le Schmidt. The series brings together Le Schmidt's signature minimalist aesthetic and RackBuddy's modular, fully customisable shelving system.

Søren Le Schmidt is known for a stringent, functional approach to design — whether expressed through fashion or interiors. In this collaboration with RackBuddy, he led the design of a shelving system that unites form and function at its core. For Le Schmidt, the two are inseparable: a rack must be beautiful both when completely empty and when fully loaded.

Frame Chrome Collection — minimalist open wardrobe system in chrome

Frame Chrome Collection is RackBuddy's answer to the modern home that wants order without compromising on style. The system is crafted from chrome-plated square metal profiles — and with chrome as the defining finish, the design reaches a level of quality that sets it apart from everything else in the category.

The chrome surface interacts with light in a way that gives the system a visual lightness and restraint. Unlike darker finishes that tend to assert themselves heavily in a room, chrome integrates naturally into contemporary interiors — without losing its presence.

      What is the Frame Collection?

The Frame Collection is a minimalist open wardrobe system in square profile iron from RackBuddy. It's designed for those who want open, visible storage with a clean geometric expression — a minimalist and timeless storage series built around you.

The system comes in two forms.

Build and personalise your own storage with the Walk-in Series — modular and fully adaptable

The Walk-in Series is the heart of the Frame Collection. Here you can configure your own solution from scratch — whether it's for your bedroom, living room, home office, hallway, or anywhere else. With hanging rails, shelves, dressers and desk tops, you can keep building and adapting as your needs change. The Walk-in Series is available in chrome and matte black.

Individual pieces — freestanding, hanging and wall-mounted clothes racks

Freestanding clothes racks, hanging solutions and wall-mounted racks are standalone products in the Frame design. They can't be expanded with additional modules, but they match perfectly in material and finish to the Walk-in Series and work as natural additions to a complete solution. Individual pieces are available in chrome, matte black and matte white.

Build your own walk-in wardrobe system — how the modules work

The strength of the Walk-in Series is its modularity. This isn't a wardrobe system you buy once and forget — it's a platform you keep building on as your home and habits evolve.

You start with the essentials and add exactly what you need: hanging rails in single or double height, shelves for shoes and bags, dressers and drawers for folded clothes, and desk tops for the dressing room that doubles as a workspace.

Three principles drive the system. A small number of components creates an endless range of combinations. The system can be taken apart and rebuilt, so it moves with you. And every Walk-in module is available in chrome — for a consistent, considered look throughout.

Configure your solution in our product builder

You don't need to wait for a design meeting to get started. In RackBuddy's product builder you can put together your Frame Chrome solution directly online — choose your modules, adjust the dimensions and watch your configuration take shape.

The product builder is designed to make experimenting easy. Try different combinations of hanging rails and shelves, add dressers, and get a clear picture of what your solution will cost. When you're happy, you can add it straight to your cart or save it for a design meeting where we can take it further.

      Wardrobe system for the bedroom

Your bedroom deserves a wardrobe system that isn't hidden behind a closed door. With the Frame Collection in chrome, you get an open wardrobe that presents your clothes as part of the interior — not something to be tucked away.

Chrome is particularly well-suited to the bedroom. It picks up the soft morning and evening light and gives the room a lightness that matte black can't match in the same setting. The square profiles don't block the light, and without a back panel the room breathes more freely.

For a standard bedroom, we recommend starting with a single hanging clothes rack in chrome and expanding with Walk-in modules when the space allows. If you have a dedicated dressing room, the Walk-in Series in chrome is the natural choice from day one.

Shelving and display for the living room

The Frame Chrome Collection isn't just for the wardrobe. The modular nature of the Walk-in Series makes it just as well-suited to the living room, where a set of shelves transforms it into an elegant bookcase or a personal display for art, plants and favourite things.

The chrome finish brings a light, contemporary feel to the living room. Unlike heavy wooden furniture, the system doesn't take up visual space — it contributes to the room without dominating it. You decide whether to fill the shelves with books from floor to ceiling, create a curated display with space for both art and storage, or combine the two.

The result is a living room solution that's functional and decorative at the same time — and one that can be reconfigured whenever your taste or your room changes.

Chrome — a deliberate aesthetic choice

The choice of chrome plating as a finish is not accidental. The chrome surface interacts with light in a way that gives the Frame system a visual lightness and restraint — in contrast to darker finishes that assert themselves more heavily in a space.

The result is a wardrobe system that integrates naturally into contemporary interiors without sacrificing presence. It's neither invisible nor dominant — it's exactly where it should be.

Beyond chrome, the freestanding, hanging and wall-mounted individual pieces are also available in matte black and matte white. Matte black gives the system graphic weight and character. Matte white is the discreet choice that lets the room and the clothes take centre stage. The Walk-in Series is available in chrome and matte black.

Designed by Søren Le Schmidt — the philosophy behind the Frame Collection

The Frame Collection was designed by Søren Le Schmidt. The design philosophy behind the series is built on one core principle: flexibility as a fundamental value.

It is precisely this adaptability — the ability to configure the system with hanging rails, shelves, or whatever the need demands — that, according to Søren Le Schmidt, sets the Frame Collection apart from conventional storage solutions. Every unnecessary element has been removed. What remains is geometry and function working together.

Frame vs. Original — which collection is right for you?

RackBuddy has two collections, and they speak to two different aesthetic worlds.

      Frame Collection

Built from chrome-plated square profiles with a minimalist, modern expression. At home in Scandinavian and Nordic interiors. Individual pieces available in chrome, matte black and matte white. Walk-in Series available in chrome and matte black.

      Original Collection

Built from round water pipes with an industrial, raw expression. At home in loft and urban interiors. Available in dark iron and silver.

Both collections can be combined with each other and share the same core DNA — robust materials, a small number of components, and solutions built to last a lifetime.
