Activities in which we process your personal data

Visiting our website www.rackbuddy.de
For the regular operation of the website, we process the name of the accessed webpage, the accessed file, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, message about successful retrieval, browser type and operating system of the user, referrer URL, and IP address of all website visitors (Art. 6 Para. 1 b GDPR). Once you leave our website, we delete this data unless parts of it are further processed for another purpose.

To protect our website from attacks and to detect them, we process the IP addresses and [data categories] of all website visitors. This serves our legal obligation to take protective measures (Art. 6 Para. 1 c GDPR). These data are deleted after 7 days if no attack was detected. If an attack is detected, these data are further processed and, if necessary, legally pursued.

For our website, we use the Montserrat font. To make it visible to our customers on the website, the IP address is transmitted. This transmission is technically necessary to transfer the font file from the third-party server to the end device of the website user (Art. 6 Para. 1 b GDPR). Orders in our online shop

When you place an order online with us, you must provide the following data: name, address, phone number, and email address. These data are required for the processing and execution of the purchase contract, shipping of goods, and invoicing (Art. 6 Para. 1 b GDPR). Once these data are no longer needed for the above purposes and no legal retention requirements apply, we delete them.

For payment processing when purchasing one of our products, we transmit your payment information to third parties (e.g., for credit card payments to your credit card provider). The following payment methods can be used for orders:

  • PayPal: When paying via PayPal, your payment data are forwarded to PayPal (Europe) S.a.r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg ("PayPal") for contract fulfillment (Art. 6 Para. 1 b GDPR).   • Credit card: We use the payment service BS Payone. This is a service of BS PAYONE GmbH, Lyoner Straße 9, 60528 Frankfurt/Main. The transmission of data is necessary here as well and will not exceed what is required (Art. 6 Para. 1 b GDPR). Data sharing with third parties for order processing

For order fulfillment, we use the services of various partners:

  • As a logistics service provider, we use GLS. GLS provides logistics services on our behalf. For this purpose, we transmit your name, address, email address, phone number, customer reference number, the name of the invoice recipient, and the billing address. GLS is contractually obligated to use these data only for the described purpose and according to our instructions.

Website analysis and tracking

Our website uses cookies. These are small text files that store user-related information. Cookies provide information about data traffic on the site and data that give insight into how our customers use our site. This information is used exclusively to optimize our website and its functionality, making it as easy as possible for our customers to navigate and use our website.

Furthermore, cookies may allow us to recognize you as a customer. They can also provide insight into your behavior on our website, enabling us to deliver targeted advertising. This includes, for example, Google Analytics, which stores cookies on users' devices.

IP addresses (anonymized), the referring website, accessed subpages, frequency, and duration of visits are transmitted to Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, USA, and processed there. The processing primarily serves to optimize our website and analyze online advertising effectiveness. Google uses the collected data to generate online reports about website activity and provide other services related to website use. This processing is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 Para. 1 f GDPR) in continuously improving our website and adapting it to the interests and wishes of visitors, as well as presenting our company and products as effectively as possible. To optimize our advertising efforts, we use Bing (Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA) and Google Ads (Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). These services set cookies if you click on an ad. Cookies are deleted according to your browser settings. You can also block cookies via your browser settings.

We have embedded the Trustbadge from Trustpilot to maintain our legitimate interest in optimal marketing (Art. 6 Para. 1 f GDPR). When the Trustbadge is accessed, the webserver automatically stores a server log file including your IP address, date and time, transmitted data amount, and requesting provider. These access data are not evaluated and are automatically deleted after seven days.

Social plugins on our website

Our website integrates the Pinterest social network plugin. Pinterest is a social network of Pinterest Inc., 635 High Street, Palo Alto, CA 94301, USA. The Pinterest plugin is identifiable by the “Save Button” on our site. Clicking this button while logged into your Pinterest account allows you to link our content to your Pinterest profile. When you contact us via our contact form, the data you provide are processed and stored to respond to your inquiry. Processing personal data from the contact form is solely for handling the inquiry. The IP address is processed to prevent misuse of the contact form and ensure the security of our IT systems.
